from owning your own company -- wealth, security, freedom, for example -- You must do the most unnatural, difficult thing for an entrepreneur; you must systematically reduce the dependency of the business on you. Don't overlook this. This is the secret to becoming financially independent through entrepreneurship.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most entrepreneurs have no understanding of this and give it very little thought until it's too late. They wind up being owned by their businesses. To their surprise, they find that they've traded one old boss for a plethora of new ones: stockholders, investors and lenders, employees and associates, customers and clients, vendors and government agencies. Their ideas of independence dissolve against these forces.&lt;br /&gt;There's an old joke about the government bureaucrat descending on the small-business owner. He says: "We've received a report that you have some poor fellow working here 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, for nothing but room, board, meals, all the tobacco he can smoke and all the liquor he can drink. Is that true?" "Yes, I'm afraid it is," admits the owner. "And I'm sad to say, you're looking at him."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You're probably wondering about the security of your business. If the typical entrepreneur leaves the business alone for a week, it does a Jekyll-and-Hyde transformation. You have got to be there! I know many business owners who go years without a vacation. And, those who do go on vacation don't enjoy. One half hopes everything's okay back at the ranch, which he or she checks every few hours by phone, and the other half is disappointed if it is okay; after all, how could it be without his or her indispensable presence?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Too many people get into business only to discover they've acquired a new, tougher, more demanding, more stressful job, and they cannot see any way to change it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The trick is to let the business mature - and the faster, the better. An immature business is entrepreneur driven. In its early days, that's okay and usually necessary. You are the business. Are you advertising low price? If so, then you’ll attract people who want nothing but low prices. The minute your competitor hangs out a sign with a lower price scribbled on it, these price shoppers will leave you in a heart beat and run to your competitor. Rather, introductory offers should be made in terms your potential clients can relate to. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My recommendation to you is that you advertise in dollars, for example, “$25.00 off your pets’ first exam” or “Free one day boarding pass with exam”. “You save $29.99 off our regular price!” “We know your pet is going to fall in love with our vet care services. We know Fido will beg you to take him back – that’s why his first visit is on us!”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mistake 3 – Not advertising your Unique Selling Proposition (USP). One of the purposes of marketing is to let your prospective clients know how you’re unique. One of the things that set you apart from your competitor is your USP. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your first step is to start by pointing out what it is that you do that’s different from everybody else. I stole it and &lt;br /&gt;I’m not ashamed to admit it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I “modeled” the title after the highly successful ad &lt;br /&gt;headline “The Lazy Man’s Way To Riches.”  Contrary to &lt;br /&gt;what you believe,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Top copywriters don’t make up the “killer” headlines &lt;br /&gt;they write, they steal them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about &lt;br /&gt;word-for-word plagiarizing here. I’m talking about &lt;br /&gt;taking already “proven” headlines and using them as a &lt;br /&gt;basis for writing your headlines.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here’s an example of how to do it: Let’s use the &lt;br /&gt;famous headline...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;" Who Else Wants To Look Like A Movie Star?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This headline has been ripped-off (ethically) many, &lt;br /&gt;many times by nasty marketers…including yours truly.  &lt;br /&gt;Why? Because it works!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's say you’re selling a home study kit that teaches &lt;br /&gt;people how to get a job fast. How could you adapt the &lt;br /&gt;"killer" headline above for your ad?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How about this:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Who Else Wants Their Phone Ringing Off The Hook With &lt;br /&gt;Quality Job Interviews?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After your headline, you’d go into the story. Tell how &lt;br /&gt;tough it is to get an interview in today’s job market. &lt;br /&gt;Show them some stats. Report how most people just hope &lt;br /&gt;the phone will ring after they send out a bunch of &lt;br /&gt;resumes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next, you’d go on to tell how your stuff is different. &lt;br /&gt;How using your stuff can help them ace the interview &lt;br /&gt;and get that dream job and make their career wishes &lt;br /&gt;come true...blah...blah...blah...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Got it? Good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let’s try another one. Let’s say you’re selling &lt;br /&gt;natural supplements to baby boomers. How about...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Who Else Wants To Feel Healthy and Young Again &lt;br /&gt;Without Taking Drugs?”&lt;br /&gt;Baby boomers want to feel good and look young. Push &lt;br /&gt;right on their hot buttons and they'll respond.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are a few more examples for different products or &lt;br /&gt;services...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Who Else Wants To Grow Bigger, Prettier Flowers Next &lt;br /&gt;Spring?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Who Else Wants To Be Forever Beautiful Without &lt;br /&gt;Acne...?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Who Else Wants To Play Free Golf And Make Up To $ 397 &lt;br /&gt;A Week For Playing?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://tinyurl.com/5sq2gf"&gt;"Who Else Wants Better Sex All The Time?"&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Who Else Wants To Learn To Play The Piano Without &lt;br /&gt;Years Of Scales, Drills, and Silly Little Songs?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Who Else Wants To Build A Million Dollar Practice &lt;br /&gt;Without Cold-Calling, Without Pushy Sales Techniques &amp; &lt;br /&gt;Without Begging People To Do Business With You!"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think you get the idea.  This is how the pros do it. &lt;br /&gt;Not always, but a lot of the time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This lazy method of using “proven” headlines to base &lt;br /&gt;your headlines on delivers great results -- you have &lt;br /&gt;about a 1,000% better chance of coming with a winning &lt;br /&gt;headline than if you try to dream one up yourself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A great source for effective headlines are the little &lt;br /&gt;blurbs on the front covers of magazines like Reader’s &lt;br /&gt;Digest, Cosmo, Redbook, Woman’s Day, Men’s Health, &lt;br /&gt;Men’s Fitness and tabloids like The National Enquirer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Any serious Quick-Turn Marketers should subscribe to &lt;br /&gt;The National Enquirer!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I LOVE The National Enquirer and you should, too. And he should know, he's&lt;br /&gt;the guy who single-handedly sold more than 100,000,000&lt;br /&gt;"little blue books" during the first part of the 20th&lt;br /&gt;century (Yes, I said 100 million copies). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;His book entitled "The First Hundred Million" gives a rare&lt;br /&gt;glimpse into how to use certain tested title words to&lt;br /&gt;increase your sales. In fact, his book is one of the most&lt;br /&gt;scientific studies of what a title change can do for your&lt;br /&gt;sales. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The most remarkable thing is that Haldeman-Julius simply&lt;br /&gt;advertised his books by title alone. There was no selling&lt;br /&gt;copy, only the title of the book. That's it. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So before you decide on any haphazard title for your next&lt;br /&gt;ebook, manual, ezine article or free report, you might want&lt;br /&gt;to take advice from this savvy marketer. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Haldeman-Julius had a policy in his business - if a title&lt;br /&gt;didn't sell over 10,000 copies a year it was sent to a&lt;br /&gt;place in his office called "The Hospital". Inside the&lt;br /&gt;Hospital he went to work coming up with a new title for the&lt;br /&gt;poorly selling book and re-releasing it. If the revised&lt;br /&gt;title didn't sell, the book went into the 'morgue". &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He tells about a book originally being titled "The Art of&lt;br /&gt;Controversy" which never really sold until it was changed&lt;br /&gt;to "How to Argue Logically" and then it leapt up to 30,000&lt;br /&gt;copies. The amazing thing is that nothing else was changed&lt;br /&gt;inside the book, just the title. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And from this "in the trenches" research, Haldeman-Julius&lt;br /&gt;discovered certain title words that could increase the&lt;br /&gt;sales of almost any book when applied. For instance the&lt;br /&gt;words "The Truth About" increased sales for one book&lt;br /&gt;starting its publishing life as "Patent Medicine". This&lt;br /&gt;book by Dr. Arthur Cramp only sold 3,000 copies in 1925 but&lt;br /&gt;when the title was changed to "The Truth About Patent&lt;br /&gt;Medicine" it rose up to a respectable 10,000 copies. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Therefore the words "The Truth About" are magical. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next, he found the words "Life" and "Love" to work well.&lt;br /&gt;Followed by the worn, but still very powerful phrase "How&lt;br /&gt;To". Books with "How To" in the title were almost always&lt;br /&gt;placed at the top of his sales list. Take for example, the&lt;br /&gt;title "How to Psycho-Analyze Yourself" sold 43,000 copies&lt;br /&gt;while a similar title "Psycho-Analysis Explained" sold&lt;br /&gt;5,000 less copies. And the title "How I Psycho-Analyzed&lt;br /&gt;Myself" managed to attract only 13,500 buyers. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What's more, Haldeman-Julius discovered the public was (and&lt;br /&gt;still is) clamoring for facts. So the words "The Facts You&lt;br /&gt;Should Know" proved a big winner. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So how can you apply this information? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Easy! The way you should use this wisdom from the ages is&lt;br /&gt;by applying it to titles, ebooks, ezine articles, free&lt;br /&gt;reports and your headlines. For instance, if I was a&lt;br /&gt;cosmetic surgeon I'd give out free ebooks like this: "The&lt;br /&gt;Facts You Should Know About Liposuction" or "The Truth&lt;br /&gt;About Laser Hair Removal" or "How To Erase The Years With&lt;br /&gt;Laser Resurfacing". Each of these could almost be a&lt;br /&gt;headline by themselves. That's why I want to take you behind&lt;br /&gt;the scenes of a successful sales letter I wrote and&lt;br /&gt;illustrate the thinking that goes into writing a killer&lt;br /&gt;letter that generated a healthy 3810% ROI. Anyone interested in your product at a&lt;br /&gt;bargain price would certainly continue reading. &lt;br /&gt;------End Comments------&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Read The Amazing Facts To Find Out How... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;------Side Note Comments------&lt;br /&gt;Next, the subhead tells prospects that the answer is right&lt;br /&gt;inside this letter if they keep reading. &lt;br /&gt;------End Comments------&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dear Friend, &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, it's absolutely true. You can really replace your old,&lt;br /&gt;worn-out exam table and only pay $417 out of your pocket&lt;br /&gt;(But only if you are one of the first 2 people to respond&lt;br /&gt;to this letter.) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let me explain. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;------Side Note Comments------&lt;br /&gt;Your first sentence is absolutely critical to your letter.&lt;br /&gt;If your first sentence doesn't make people want to keep&lt;br /&gt;reading, you can expect your letter to end up in the&lt;br /&gt;circular file. So make sure it keeps their interest piqued&lt;br /&gt;and follow up on the headline promise in the first&lt;br /&gt;sentence. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the first sentence I reiterate the fact that yes they&lt;br /&gt;really can get a brand new power table for such a low&lt;br /&gt;price. The second sentence I throw in a little scarcity&lt;br /&gt;right at the beginning of the letter so they won't just&lt;br /&gt;toss this letter aside for further reading. &lt;br /&gt;------End Comments------ &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last April, our little company took a big gamble and signed&lt;br /&gt;up for a power table promotion. In order to get on the&lt;br /&gt;promotion we had to agree to take 3 power tables - nearly&lt;br /&gt;$15,000. (And for a small company like us, that's a lot of&lt;br /&gt;money to be tied up in inventory). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Only one of those 3 tables were sold - so there are still 2&lt;br /&gt;left. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;------Side Note Comments------&lt;br /&gt;The next paragraph I begin to explain the story of why&lt;br /&gt;we're selling this product at such a bargain price. Everyone is always silently asking&lt;br /&gt;themselves "So what?" and "Who cares?". You've got to keep&lt;br /&gt;the focus on what the reader will gain from the letter.&lt;br /&gt;------End Comments------&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In order to move these last 2 tables I've decided to do&lt;br /&gt;something somewhat bold and a little daring. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First, you should know that the manufacturer's promotion of&lt;br /&gt;these power tables ends June 30th. Is there some way I can increase my ad’s pulling power without destroying the basic campaign concept?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            Fortunately, the answer is yes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are proven techniques you can use to increase any ads pulling power, whether your main goal is inquiries or image. Here are 31 techniques that can work for you:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            1. Ask for action. Tell the reader to phone, write, contact his sales rep, request technical literature or place an order.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            2. Offer free information, such as a color brochure or catalog.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            3. Describe your brochure or catalog. Tell about its special features, such as a selection chart, planning guide, installation tips or other useful information it contains.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            4. Show a picture of your brochure or catalog.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            5. A bound-in- business reply card, appearing opposite your ad, can increase response by a factor or two or more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            18. Use a direct headline-one that promises a benefit or stresses the offer of free information-rather than a headline that is cute or clever.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            19. Put your offer of a free booklet, report, selection guide or other publication in the headline of your ad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            20. Offer a free gift, such a slide rule, metric conversion fable, pocket ruler, etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            21. Offer a free product sample.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            22. Offer a free consultation, analysis, recommendation, study, cost estimate, computer printout, etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            23. Talk abut the value and benefits of your free offer. The more you stress the offer, the better your response.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            24. Highlight the free offer in a copy subhead. The last subhead of your ad could read, “Get the facts-Free.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            25. In a two-page ad, run copy describing your offer in a separate sidebar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            26. Be sure the magazine includes a reader service number in your ad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            27. Use copy and graphics that specifically point the reader toward using the reader service number. For example, an arrow pointing to the number and copy that says, “For more information circle reader service number below.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            28. Consider using more than one reader service number. For example, one number for people who want literature, another for immediate response from a salesperson.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            29. In a full-page ad for multiple products, have a separate reader service number for each product or piece of literature featured in the ad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            30. Test different ads. Keep track of how many inquiries each ad pulls. Then run only those ads that pull the best.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;            31. Bly&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To define what constitutes good print advertising, we begin with what a good &lt;A HREF="http://www.ctcpublishing.net/cmd.php?af=799807"&gt;print ad&lt;/A&gt; is not:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;    * It is not creative for the sake of being creative.&lt;br /&gt;    * It is not designed to please copywriters, art directors, agency presidents, or even clients.&lt;br /&gt;    * Its main purpose is not to entertain, win awards, or shout at the readers, “I am an ad. Don’t you admire my fine writing, bold graphics, and clever concept?” &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In other words, ignore most of what you would learn as a student in any basic advertising class or as a trainee in one of the big Madison Avenue consumer ad agencies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay. So that’s what an ad shouldn’t be. As for what an ad should be, here are some characteristics shared by successful direct response print ads:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* They stress a benefit. The main selling proposition is not cleverly hidden but is made immediately clear. Example: “How to Win Friends and Influence People.”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* They arouse curiosity and invite readership. The key here is not to be outrageous but to address the strongest interests and concerns of your target audience. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Example: “Do you Make These Mistakes in English?” appeals to the reader’s desire to avoid embarrassment and write and speak properly.&lt;br /&gt;    &lt;br /&gt;* They provide information. The headline “How to Stop Emission Problems—at Half the Cost of Conventional Air Pollution Control Devices” lures the reader because it promises useful information. Prospects today seek specific, usable information on highly specialized topics. Ads that provide information the reader wants get higher readership and better response.&lt;br /&gt;    &lt;br /&gt;* They are knowledgeable. Successful ad copy reflects a high level of knowledge and understanding of the product and the problem it solves. An effective technique is to tell the reader something he already knows, proving that you, the advertiser, are well-versed in his industry, application, or requirement. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;An opposite style, ineffectively used by many “professional” agency copywriters, is to reduce everything to the simplest common denominator and assume the reader is completely ignorant. But this can insult the reader’s intelligence and destroy your credibility with him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* They have a strong fee offer. Good ads contain a stronger offer. They tell the reader the next step in the buying process and encourage him to take it NOW. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All ads should have an offer, because the offer generates immediate response and business from prospects who are ready to buy now or at least thinking about buying. Without an offer, these “urgent” prospects are not encouraged to reach out to you, and you lose many potential customers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition, strong offers increase readership, because people like ads that offer them something—especially if it is free and has high perceived value.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Writers of image advertising may object, “But doesn’t making an offer cheapen the ad, destroy our image? After all, we want awareness, not response.” But how does offering a free booklet weaken the rest of the ad? It doesn’t, of course. The entire notion that you cannot simultaneously elicit a response and communicate a message is absurd and without foundation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* They are designed to emphasize the offer. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Graphic techniques such as “kickers” or eyebrows (copy lines above the headline), bold headlines, liberal use of subheads, bulleted or numbered copy points, coupons, sketches of telephone, toll-free numbers set in large type, pictures of response booklets and brochures, dashed borders, asterisks, and marginal notes make your ads more eye-catching and response-oriented, increasing readership.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My theory is that when people see a non-direct response ad, they know it’s just a reminder-type ad and figure they don’t have to read it. But when they see response-type graphic devices, these visuals say to the reader, “Stop! This is a response ad! Read it so you can find out what we are offering. And mail the coupon—so you can get it NOW!”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* They are clearly illustrated. Good advertising does not use abstract art or concepts that force the reader to puzzle out what is being sold. Ideally, you should be able to understand exactly what the advertiser’s proposition is within five seconds of looking at the ad. As John Caples observed a long time ago, the best visual for an ad for a record club is probably a picture of records. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At about this point, someone from DDB will stand up and object: “Wait a minute. You said these are the characteristics of a successful direct response ad. But isn’t general advertising different?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maybe. But one of the ways to make your general advertising more effective is to write and design it as a direct response ad. Applying all the stock-in-trade techniques of the direct marketer (coupons, toll-free numbers, free booklets, reason-why copy, benefit-headlines, informative subheads) virtually guarantees that your advertisement will be better read—and get more response—than the average “image” ad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I agree with Howard Ruff when he says that everything a marketer does should be direct response. "I liked his speeches. ... He was only asking for what he was due, but the way he did it commanded respect. He earned my parents' respect."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Marty King, 53, was named for his father, who was named for the German monk and theologian Martin Luther, founder of the Protestant Reformation in the early 1500s.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's not the only famous name in his family. Marty King's grandfather was named Abraham Lincoln.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Marty King said he is humbled by the association to an icon. "I could cure cancer and still wouldn't be more famous," he said.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The name connection has caused some hassles along the way. There was the time the U.S. Postal Service canceled his mail and marked it "deceased."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before Coretta Scott King died in 2006, Marty King received the occasional phone calls from confused people asking for the widow of the slain civil rights leader. He also has gotten racial slurs on his answering machine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Those you just push the (erase) button," said Marty King, who no longer has voicemail on his phone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But there are fun parts of having such a ubiquitous name.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Every town you go into, you can always find a street sign that has your name on it and have a picture taken in front of it," he said. "I send them home to my mother. The reason you must know who your type market is, simply put, is so that you can find your potential clients. You see half of the battle is over when you actually know who you are marketing to. Many massage therapists actually think that every body is their target market, why is this? Because we are under the impression that because massage is good for every body and every body needs it then obviously this is a target market.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;This is so further from the truth! You see in order to gain clients you first have to know who your clients are. This means people who are serving others to help with muscle soreness, fatigue and other reasons.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;You see it’s not about who you think needs massage, its more about looking at who is looking for massage. So ask yourself who else in my community helps people relax? When I first stated, I had no money to do advertising with, so I had to &lt;a href="http://www.getwebsiteordie.info/"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;find &lt;a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);" href="http://www.getwebsiteordie.info/"&gt;another way to market myself&lt;/a&gt;. It took longer, but the clients I got as a result stayed with me for years, and they in turn referred me their friends.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You see marketing yourself to other sources, that’s not newspaper advertising, does take a little longer, and you will need a bit more patience, but if you market yourself to the right areas you’ll get more solid and lasting results. Its not how ‘big’ you advertise, in fact it’s the opposite.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);" href="http://www.getwebsiteordie.info/"&gt;Not having any money to do expensive advertising&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;when I first started was good in this way. It taught me to be creative and as a result I learned something no college or massage school could ever teach me. I learned that it was not about exposure to ‘everyone’ it was about exposure to certain groups of people who were looking for massage specifically. And after time, I found out how to find exactly how was looking for massage and how I could market myself to those people. As a result I was busier than I had ever been, had more clients than I imagined I would in one go, and worked more than I had in months, in just one month….that is, after I knew what to do.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You see &lt;a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);" href="http://getwebsiteordie.info/"&gt;marketing your practice&lt;/a&gt; is not just about ‘getting your message out there’. It’s about getting your message out there to people who want massage. And you can even take it one step further; getting your message out there to people who want your particular type of massage. And the secret of finding this is in your own practice. How fantastic is that!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So the best thing to remember is that it’s not about general advertising, it’s about specific advertising to people who want massage therapy as a treatment/maintenance/prevention/solution. You know that you should do marketing- that’s established but the frequency is not always known. The Therapists who have a good number of clients get most of their clients through word of mouth and advertising they do. Starting Therapists usually get their clients from word of mouth as advertising is not a financial option at this stage.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;Did you notice what they have in common? &lt;a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);" href="http://www.getwebsiteordie.info/"&gt;They all have to market themselves&lt;/a&gt;. Regardless of what stage you are in you must always continually market yourself.Even the most regular clients don’t stay forever. Sometimes this is because of moving out of the area, death, and sometimes they just don’t need us anymore. The latter is great for them because if that happens we have done our jobs and helped them with their problem. But don’t get too comfortable with your client numbers. And even the most established of clinics have hired me to do their marketing for them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;You simply must &lt;a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);" href="http://www.getwebsiteordie.info/"&gt;market your massage business &lt;/a&gt;all the time. I would suggest if you are starting out then at least dedicate half an hour a day to doing something. If it’s just a phone call or placing your fliers in a health food store, at least it is something. If you are fairly established and don’t need an influx of clients then every couple of months should be a good start.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;What happens if you don’t?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;If you don’t you’ll find you hit quiet times more suddenly and without warning.
